Abstract

The conditions offered to employees by employers in the tourism sector are formed taking into account trends in the field, the organization's vision, goals, requirements for the given position and a number of other factors. In order to train competitive specialists in the field, professional educational programs of higher educational institutions should be developed in accordance with these requirements. Accordingly, educational outcomes should be defined, particularly appreciating the development of professional awareness among future tourism specialists. In this article, the concept of "professional awareness" is subjected to component analysis. Professional awareness is characterized by the level of professional education, responsible and creative attitude towards work, personal qualities, as well as the willingness of continual self-education. The article considers different approaches in the professional literature regarding the professional awareness of tourism specialists. The components of professional awareness that can contribute to the successful start of the activities of future tourism professionals are also studied.
