Abstract
The H 2O 18 content of a group of 11 water samples from 7558 to 9864 m depth was compared with that of another group of 4 samples from 3830 to 4202 m depth. The difference was 0·1 ± 0·2 p.p.m., i.e. not significant. Approx. 100 p.p.m. should be expected in case of equilibrium.
