Abstract

The assessment of the content and distribution of natural radionuclides (232Th, 238U, 40K) in stratified bottom sediments cores of the similar composition (silicon class) in model small lakes, taking into account the type of sedimentogenesis (humid, arid, and nival), in consistently changing landscape conditions of the south of Western Siberia, was carried out. In the bottom sediments of the model small lakes (silicon class) of the humid and arid sedimentogenesis type, the average content and distribution of Th, U and K are similar throughout the studied time interval (about 200 years). For bottom sediments in model lakes of the nival sedimentogenesis type, fluctuations in the average composition along the core, as well as generally higher Th and U contents, are observed.
