The construction of color-tunable lanthanide coordination polymer mediated by C 3-symmetrical organic ligand

Abstract

In this work, we synthesized a novel C 3-symmetrical organic ligand with benzene central core and terpyridine moiety at the terminal (Terp-TMC). Luminescent coordination polymer was achieved after introducing lanthanide ion, as the triplet excited state of the terpyridine unit capable of sensitizing both Eu3+ and Tb3+. The emission colors of the obtained lanthanide coordination polymer can be finely tuned by either changing the Eu3+/Tb3+ molar ratio or altering the excitation wavelength.
