The article considers the trends of ecologization of various branches of Russian legislation, in the process of which ecological approaches and principles are implemented in different spheres of activity. At the current stage, the basic approach is used to motivate the subjects of environmental relations to take measures to reduce the negative impact on the environment and introduce the best available technologies.
