Abstract

Constitutional history is always a vivid picture, reflecting the socio-political context of a country in each certain historical period. By analyzing the historical context and constitutional text, the article outlines three ups and downs periods of China’s constitutional history from 1949 to the present. The article points out some features of the Chinese Constitution, namely personalization of leaders, affirming and consolidating the leadership of the Communist Party of China, adopting Western constitutional values, making efforts to reform the state system.
