Abstract

Revised and enlarged from the original French edition (see also AATA 15-1480), this volume provides a history of wall painting techniques and advanced guidelines for conservation. The chapters dealing with the history of mural painting techniques have been extensively revised; the section on Gothic mural paintings has been updated in light of recent technological examinations. An appendix by Bernard Feilden on scaffolding and safety has been added.
