Abstract

The multiple negative implications and consequences of teenage pregnancy have been thoroughly documented in the literature. As discussed in the introduction to this work, research on the topic has widely shown the many different consequences early childbearing has on the mother and the child, suggesting that teenage pregnancy compromises women’s educational, social and economic prospects. The purpose of this study is not to validate or question these quantitative results.
