Abstract

In anticipation of NCLEX® NextGen changes in April 2023, four nurse educators collaborated for NextGen question readiness using a unique team-based approach. They recognized the need for practical solutions to make the transition from current NCLEX® preparation and testing to the NextGen Clinical Judgement Model, as well as the need for faculty support. Several barriers were identified, and workable solutions developed resulting in a method that can be used by faculty in any nursing program. This innovative process was new to this program and provides a starting point for NextGen item creation and Clinical Judgement Model integration.
