Abstract

Wavelet Series (WS) and Pyramidal Algorithm (PA) are both widely used in many fields. The values of WS can be obtained by its inner product definitions while approximation and detail coefficients of PA are computed with a pyramidal construction based on convolutions with filters. When the initial inputs of PA are signal samples, the connection between PA and WS is analyzed detailedly in this paper. And simple formulas are also given to obtain exact values of scaling and wavelet functions on a certain point.
