Abstract
A domain name is defined as alphanumeric equivalent of an Internet Protocol (IP)1 number.2 For example: the web address for the Jordan News Agency (Petra) is www.petra.gov.jo. It is more convenient to remem ber domain names than to remember difficult IP numbers, even if a par ticular IP number and domain name perform the same function.3 Domain names are divided into hierarchical levels: Top-level Domain names (TLDs), Second-level Domain names (SLDs), Third-level Domains (3LDs) and so on.4 Top-level Domain names (TLDs) are further divided into two categories:
