Abstract

Many IEEE members enjoyed the lovely Greek seacoast that warm summer 2005. Among them there were participants of the 9th International Conference on Circuits, Systems, Communications and Computers (CSCC). The event was held in Armonia Hotel, Vouliagmeni, Athens, 11–16 July. The conference venue was easily reached within half an hour from Syntagma square, the hearth of the Greek capital, by using either a combination of new modern trams and buses or a taxi—though the latter was a bit expensive. This was my first travel to Greece, so I appreciated the conference organizers’ offer to take scheduled taxi transportation from the airport to the hotel and vice versa. Later it appeared that I could have regular cabs on the same routes—within less than a half of the “scheduled” price.
