Abstract

This article will analyze the three most significant theoretical standpoints that have attempted to study Latin America’s development: the dependency theory, the neo-institutionalist school, and the Varieties of Capitalism perspective. In order to differentiate diverse forms of development in the continent, the final part develops the argument. It proposes a view based on the dependency theory and the French regulation school.
