Abstract
Warehousing plays a crucial role in managing supply chain network efficiently. There are many factors influencing on warehousing, mainly involved with the way warehouses are build, equipped and managed. This has a significant impact not only on the economic growth but also on the society and environment. Taking into consideration this three dimensions leads to the concept of sustainable warehousing and requires the specific analysis allowing to assess the level of sustainable warehousing and manage it to provide more economical, social and environmental friendly units and processes.However, the sustainability is a core value to many businesses, in the context of warehousing has not been putting much attention. This papers explores the possibility to develop the decision support system, which can be the basis to assess the level of sustainable warehousing and indicate the path of its growth. The given proposal might be the guide for decision makers on how to lead the development of sustainability criteria to transform the warehousing to better answer the needs of sustainability paradigm.
