Abstract

The article describes methods for calibrating angular encoders. The descriptions of calibration methods based on the use of autocollimator, laser interferometer and precision angular encoder are presented. The minimum step of measurements of the controlled positions was determined during the calibration of angular encoders by various methods. A comparative analysis of the number of measured positions in the calibration of angular encoders is carried out. The main sources of error of angular encoders are presented. A description of the experiment of calibrating angular encoders using a precision rotary table is given. The influence of eccentricity and inclination of the mounting shaft on the readings of the calibrated encoder was revealed. The concept of building a stand for calibrating angular encoders is demonstrated. The method of leveling the error of the angular displacement transducer caused by the eccentricity and inclination during its installation in the stand is shown.
