Abstract

Universal Declaration of Human Rights, European Convention on Human Rights, European Charter of Fundamental Rights and the Constitution of the Republic of Latvia ensures the right for a person to live, but there are no articles of law in the regulatory enactments of the Republic of Latvia that guarantee the right for the person to choose to die. These laws and regulations also guarantee each person’s right to dignity. It is necessary to rate the non-recognition of the right to death, in conjunction with the obligation of the State to make sure to respect the dignity of each person, their cross-compliance.
