Abstract
1. 1. The compositional changes in subcutaneous chicken adipose tissue were investigated from the twelfth day of incubation to the fifteenth day of post-embryonic life. 2. 2. The triglyceride, DNA, protein and water contents of the tissue during development are described. 3. 3. The importance of subcutaneous adipose tissue development in the successful growth of the chick is discussed.
