Abstract

It is shown that the temperature, T c, at which the grey modification will convert to the white phase in dilute SnGe alloys increases with the amount of germanium, according as T c = 32.0 + 51.8 C 0.33. It is concluded that this increase in transition temperature is a hysteresis effect and is probably due to the reduced mobility of the β α martensitic interface.
