Abstract

Previous studies on wire-cage biconical dipoles including calculable biconical dipoles have considered only the scalar antenna factor. The complex antenna factor (CAF) allows determination of both amplitude and phase information for the incident field and is necessary for the recovery of nonsinusoidal waveforms from measured data. Here we present numerical simulations of the complex effective length and the CAF for a precision wire cage biconical design. Also, we present an extension to the widely-used standard site approach to allow accurate measurement of CAF.
