Abstract

1. 1. Methods for extraction, purification and fractionation of invertebrate AMPS ∗ are described. 2. 2. AMPS from Turbellaria, Cestoda and Trematoda have been isolated. 3. 3. Electrophoretic, chemical and infrared studies show that the substance isolated is oversulphated chondroitin sulphate. 4. 4. Functional aspects of AMPS in Platyhelminthes are discussed.
