Abstract SEVENTEEN commercial feed additives, formulated to prevent avian coccidiosis, were introduced between 1948 and 1960 (Reid, 1961), but little, if any, information has been published on a number of them. Over the past few years, attempts have been made in this and other laboratories to evaluate comparatively the efficacy of some of these compounds under controlled conditions. (Rubin et al., 1956; McLoughlin and Chester, 1959; Peterson, 1960; Arundel, 1960). The present report summarizes the results of tests with six anticoccidial compounds against experimental Eimeria tenella infection in chickens. MATERIALS AND METHODS In each of three trials, three-week-old chicks were distributed by weight according to the method of Gardiner and Wehr (1950) into 14 lots usually containing 20 birds each. Two groups, one of which was inoculated, while the other served as an uninoculated control, were on each feeding regimen.
