Abstract

Abstract The article presents the territorial evolution of the communist world from its beginning up until the present day. It argues that the communist world was created in 1917 and that it has survived the end of the Cold War. It shows various ways of understanding its nature in the past as well as in present times and shows the variability and ambiguity of the communist world, including its territorial dimension, thereby encouraging reflection and discussion.
