Abstract
Richard Holeton’s (2001) Figurski at Findhorn on Acid (henceforth Figurski) presents a strange world through juxtaposing mundane episodes with bizarre situations. Of the four texts analysed in this book, it has received the least amount of critical attention and engagements with the text generally comprise reviews as opposed to detailed analyses (e.g. Parker, 2003; Laccetti, 2006; Ensslin, 2007). This is perhaps because, at its time of publication in 2001, Storyspace hypertext was being superseded by more innovative forms of digital narrative production, with sound, image and film being incorporated more holistically into hypertext works on the World Wide Web. Critical attention was somewhat inevitably being concentrated elsewhere.
