Abstract
An objective method of disc colorimetry, based on fundus photography or reflectometry, might be useful in the study of glaucoma. In the present investigation, measurements of the amount of light of different wavelengths reflected from the optic disc of a human eye were compared with measurements made on a colour photograph of the same disc, and fairly good agreement was found. The accuracy of the method was tested by making colorimetric measurements on the blood vessels on the optic disc. Other results suggested that it may be necessary to apply a correction for the absorption of blue light by the lens.
