Abstract
fourth season the creative impulse necessary to succeed both as an experimental theatre and as a vehicle for the preservation of classic Shakespeare. Even though Henry V had all the earmarks of an experimental production, I could not help feeling as if I had seen a traditional presentation; conversely, though A Midsummer Night's Dream gave all the signs of being a traditional production, it was most striking for its experimentation. Both productions give us good reason to believe that we shall be hearing a great deal more from the Louisiana Shakespeare Festival and from both Podewell and Glynn.
