It originates from Africa and has colonized almost all the coffee producing regions in the world and resisted eradication programs. It was reported for the first time in October 2012 at Fonds-Saint-Denis in Martinique, a French overseas department, where coffee, a remnant of the past, is virtually no longer grown.
