Abstract

Flavonoids was major secondary metabolies which mediate diverse biological functions in higher plant.Many evidences indicated that almost every kind of enzyme involved in flavonoids synthesis pathways was specific to plant family. In this paper,the cDNA sequence encoding chalcone isomerase was cloned via RT-PCR and RACE in E.breviscapus(vant) Hand, and submitted to GenBank with accesesion number GU208824.1.Softwares are used to predict charactristic of the protein encoded by cloned gene in E.breviscapus, such as the basic physicochemical property,transmembrane domain,hydrophobicity,secondry and tertiary structure of protein, et al.The cloned cDNA is a full-lenth 996bp, with open reading frame 594bp, encoding 197 amino acids, 3’-poly(A). The weight of predict molecular protein is 21.6KD, theoretic isoelectric point is 4.78, it is a hydrophobic protein which without transmembrane domain and its primary member of secondary structure is mainly α-helix and random coils, it has a similar structure to the counterpart of M.sativa.
