Abstract

Objective To analyze the effect of suture anchor combined with cortical bone screw in the treatment of lower patella fracture. Methods A retrospective study was performed on 16 cases of patients with distal pole patellar fracture who were admitted from May 2016 to April 2018.There were 7 males and 9 females, aged(48.3±13.5) years old, ranged from 25 to 67 years old.All patients were treated with suture anchor combined with cortical bone screw.Their clinical data were retrospectively analyzed and the therapeutic effect was evaluated according to postoperative follow-up. Results All the 16 patients were followed up for 7 to 22 months, with an average follow-up time of(15.5±4.1) months and an average knee Bostman score of(28.9±1.9). There were 14 excellent cases and 2 good cases. All the 16 cases of lower pole fracture of patella healed completely after surgery, and no patients had fracture reduction loss, anchor loosening, fracture nonunion, stimulation of surrounding soft tissue or skin, and wound healing was good. Conclusion It is an effective method for the treatment of the fracture of the inferior patella to use the suture anchor combined with the cortical bone screw, which is fixed firmly and can exercise the knee joint function in the early stage. Key words: Suture anchor; Cortical screw; Distal pole patellar fracture; Internal fixation
