Abstract
Detailed examination of the constructional details of the church of St John the Baptist, Reedham, has produced evidence of the form of the eleventh or twelfth-century church. Analysis of the stone used to build the later sections has not only confirmed its Roman date but has necessitated a reappraisal of the stone from Brancaster Roman fort. Taken with the amount of Roman tile used in the earliest church, it indicates a substantial Roman building in the vicinity.
