Abstract

The errors in determining the thermal characteristics of materials by the laser pulse method, which depend on the geometrical dimensions of the sample, are estimated. The estimate is made by comparing the true values of the material characteristics and the results of a numerical solution of the two-dimensional problem of heat conduction in samples when their surface is acted upon by a short heat pulse under conditions corresponding to the experiment.
