Abstract

. The authorshave implemented an isolated canine perfused right atrialpreparation—appended to a rim of right ventricular tissue—and recorded atrial and ventricular transmembrane actionpotentials and pseudo-electrograms before and after intra-coronary perfusion of various concentrations of WenxinKeli. Interestingly, Wenxin Keli produced effects more no-ticeable in atrial tissue than in ventricular tissue, as it causedaction potential duration (APD) shortening and postrepolar-ization refractoriness—which is a prolongation of effectiverefractory periods without APD prolongation—in an atrial-selective manner.
