Abstract

The basic chemistry of ethylene-propylene rubber (EPR) insulation is reviewed. EPR polymer structure, diene cure site, crystallinity, molecular weight and distribution, branching, and polymer properties are discussed. Manufacture, applications, compounding, curing, processing, and performance are also discussed. The important effect that compounding has on EPR insulation properties and performance is emphasized. >
