Abstract

This paper deals with the results of tests made on the divided and confluent flow at the branch part of the special type tee fitting for a rectangular air duct. As the results of experiments, the empirical formurae for the coefficient of resistance in the confined two streams in the rectangular air duct have been obtained.(1) Loss in the divided flow at the branch part.upside type fitting P=0.9Hm+1/3Hb flank type fitting P=1.5Hm-0.79√Hb·Hm+0.11 Hb(2) Loss in the confluent flow at the branch part.upside type fitting P=-0.6Hm+1.4Hb flank type fitting P=-0.4Hm+1.0HbWhereP=pressure loss, mm WGHm=velocity head in the main duct, mm WGHb=velocity head in the branch duct, mm WGb=breadth of the main duct, mm
