Abstract

ABSTRACT By examining three specific wholesalers who are currently active in the distribution of food, drink, and other fast-moving consumer goods in Turkey, we explore the recent transition that has occurred in the Turkish wholesaling industry. The transition has been from a homogeneous wholesale sector of many small firms dealing with multiple suppliers and retailers to a sector bifurcated between a small number of large wholesalers tied into relatively stable distribution networks and a large number of small firms which are not so linked.
