Abstract

The role of Customs in international trade has been crucial for many years, and with the ongoing changes in the trade landscape, their role has become even more significant. The article underlines the importance of customs logistics approach in increasing the quality of customs authorities' services. The essence of customs logistics, its basic aspects, and methodologies were researched in order to identify state-foreign trade interactions during customs service provision and to identify the main issues of developing this sector under modern settings. Explores the changing role of Customs in adapting supply chain management practices to improve trade facilitation, increase security and compliance, and reduce costs and delays. The current role of Customs in international trade and supply chain management, challenges, and opportunities facing Customs in adapting to the changing trade environment are discussed. The study concludes that aligning Customs authorities with supply chain management practices is essential to meet the evolving demands of international trade and achieve a more efficient, secure, and compliant global trade environment.
