Abstract
This article summarizes the role of progesterone receptors (PgRs) as markers of hormone-dependent breast cancers and the use of progestational agents in breast cancer treatment. We discuss the structure of PgRs, their purification, the production of anti-PgR monoclonal antibodies, and the use of these antibodies for clinical assays.
