Abstract

The modified center-end-fed dipole-like antenna, that is fed by a novel in-phase reentrant power divider/splitter, is dwelt on in this study. Two energized splitter ports provide appropriate radiation patterns. A whole antenna prototype was simulated through the full-wave solver ‘CST Studio Suite’ and successfully implemented. The measured results confirm the proposed approach. In particular, the input reflection coefficient is less than (−10)dB in the frequency range of 0.761–0.796 GHz. Contrary to the conventional dipole antenna design, the proposed one has additional degrees of freedom, and that paves the way for the next generation of linearly polarized radiators for communication systems.
