Abstract
The structure of the title compound was determined by X-ray diffraction. The cadmium atom is coordinated to the four chlorine ligands and to two N(1′)-bound thiamines in S conformation that occupy trans positions in a distorted octahedral kernel. The structural details and the solid state (CP/MAS 13C and 113Cd) and solution ( 13C, 15N and 113Cd) NMR spectroscopic properties of the complex are compared with those of previously isolated cadmium(II)/thiamine compounds.
