Abstract
A vast number of experimental results is available for the cavitation pressures of many liquids but it is only in the past decade or so that such measurements have been carried out in the case of helium II. In this paper an attempt is made to estimate, theoretically, the cavitation pressure of helium II from a knowledge of the pair potential energy function and the radial distribution function. Finally there is a discussion of the limitations of the theory.
