The cause of low vision after phacoemulsification with elderly cataract

Abstract

Objective To explore the cause of low vision after phacoemulsifieation and intraocular lens implantant. Methods 1 252 eyes of 1252 elderly patients with cataract receied phacoemulsification with IOL implantation. Three month after the opera-tion excepting cornea elema. Surgical complications,analyse the cause of the best corrected visual acuities were lower than 0.3.Results The major cause of low vision was high myopic retinopaty,geratic macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Con-clusion The major cause of low vision after phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implant is retinopathy.
