Abstract

This essay compares the orthodox version of natural law in Irish constitutional discourse with the alternative perspective found in the work of the Irish philosopher, Garrett Barden. The essay sets out the manner in which Barden's natural law theory combines Thomism with existentialism and discusses its application to jurisprudence.
