Abstract

Magic Johnson and Larry Bird, both professional basketball Hall of Famers and global icons; participated in one of the most competitive rivalries in the history of professional sports. The fierce rivalry started when they met in the 1979 National Collegiate Athletic Association national championship game between Michigan State and Indiana State.
