Usher, Peter D. Abstract The first evidence for correlated optical and radio variability in compact galaxies is presented for the Seyfert galaxy 3C 120. The history of the optical variability of 3C 120 suggests that the occurrence of an optical event at epoch 1967.5 + 0.25 is the precursor to the radio Event II documented by PaulinyToth and Kellermann. Delay times for radio variability following optical variability are predicted.
