Abstract
ABSTRACT Gun ammunition in combatant ship magazines is stowed in ammunition stowage racks. Removal of the ammunition from these racks is labor intensive and slow. The requirement to meet many engagement scenarios with different types of ammunition that will in the future become increasingly larger and heavier will require automated robotic handling. Robotics will mimic the human ammunition handler with greater speed, reach, strength and logic unfettered by fatigue.
