Abstract

Asian Americans are the fastest growing subgroup of elderly in the United States. When Alzheimer's D~sease strikes Asian American families, women are usually the caregivers. In depth interviews with Asian American caregivers and professionals reveal common themes of family centrality, balance of multiple obligations, and norms of reciprocity and competence.
