Highlights
For over three years, from March 2014, I was an occasional surgical advisor to the Care Quality Commission (CQC)
It may be worth reminding the reader of the role of the specialist advisors (SpAs), as it functioned until recently
Inspections of the larger trusts were staffed by a number of SpAs and by up to 50 other CQC staff
Summary
From March 2014, I was an occasional surgical advisor to the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The SpA is used on an ad hoc basis for hospital inspections by the CQC.
