Abstract

Programs to reduce the use of coercive measures emphasize the importance of patient involvement in their care and the use of formalized tools. Anadult psychiatric care admission unit offers a specific tool to the hospitalized patient: the "Preventive Emotion Management Questionnaire", as soon as the patient is admitted to the unit. Thus, in case of a crisis period, caregivers will know what the patient's wishes are, which will facilitate the implementation of a care partnership, guided by two nursing theories.
