Abstract
Saturated hydrocarbons are transformed into the corresponding homologous carboxylic acids by treatment with Fe(Pa) 3/P(OMe) 3/CO/H 2O 2 in pyridine-acetic acid. Optimisation of the reaction conditions and mechanistics studies are reported.
