Abstract

Measurements from 0 to 152 m over an Iowa cornfield showed that there is a daytime decrease in CO/sub 2/ content of the air among plants carrying on active photosynthesis, and that this effect is measureable to an altitude of 152 m. The drop is such that, on still days, the CO/sub 2/ content of the air may be expected to limit photosynthesis and crop yields. 25 references, 3 figures.
