Abstract

Abstract The capillary hysteresis and measurement of its properties for the unsaturated wet porous media are of great importance both for technological applications and for improving the theory of heat and mass transfer in wet porous media. The hysteresis phenomena are discussed briefly, and a minimum gradient model is proposed for isothermal mass transfer in capillary porous media, which will explain well the classical Leverett' s experiments on capillary hysteresis behaviour. Method has been established to determine experimentally the minimum gradient and capillary potential of wet porous media
